Nestled in the heart of Mirik — between the lake, monastery & hills
Mirik is a quaint little tea-estate hill town, a subdivision in the Darjeeling district — an offbeat destination for nature lovers. Situated at an elevation of 1,495 m (4,905 ft), it hosts a pretty lake and garden with boating and horse-riding facilities. The Sumendu Lake is the lowest point in Mirik, while the Bokar Monastery is the highest. It remains cool and pleasant throughout the year, though winters can be quite chilly.
We are conveniently located in Krishnanagar, at the centre of Mirik, Darjeeling. Our home sits on the lane leading to Bokar Monastery — quiet enough to hear birds all day, yet close to everything you need. Enjoy panoramic views of the lakeside town and the hills beyond.
Most restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and the health centre are nearby. Hiking & sightseeing spots are easily accessible by foot, or you can hire a local taxi from the stand within walking distance.
Take a bus or shared taxi from Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus at Siliguri Junction to Mirik and get down at the Axis Bank ATM opposite Jagjeet Hotel. Take the alley road — we are just a minute’s walk from this ATM. The green building on the first bend with a small green gate is us! If you’re driving, cars can reach our doorstep (please check parking before arrival).
The nearest station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP). Head to Siliguri Junction for shared taxis direct to Mirik or hire a cab from NJP. Some trains also stop at Siliguri Junction — from there you can take a direct taxi to Mirik.
